Where You Are: getting lost at Ace Hotel Shoreditch

b-307

We’re still reeling a bit from last Wednesday night’s unveiling of our installation of Where You Are at the Ace Hotel Shoreditch in London.

b-308

The Joe Dunthorne / Adam Thirlwell / Stuart Hammond chemistry, the wallpaper, the place, the crowd.

b-309

We wallpapered the walls of their Lobby Bar with pages from the book, and kicked off the month-long exhibition with readings by Where You Are map makers author and poet Joe Dunthorne and novelist Adam Thirlwell in very funny conversation with Dazed’s Stuart Hammond.

b-310

From crumbled diagrams of writing productivity, to the importance (or not) of journeying outside your everyday, to the merit of drawing vs writing maps, and the “other map in Where You Are I wished I’d done” game, it was an evening of constant microphone grabbing, map folding, insights, thoughts, jokes, love-ins and first class swearing.

b-311

We loved every bit of it.

b-312

Thank you beautiful people for coming and making it all it could be.

b-313

And of course to team Ace for providing such a gorgeous home for our maps, free reign on the walls, and cold beers too.

b-314

If you missed it, go have a peak at those book pages, up all over the Ace Lobby Bar walls till the end of April.

Here’s to the next one.
