Nordic Bakery, Storytelling, Vitsoe and V&A;
12 September 2011
Every little meal at London’s Nordic Bakery is a bite size story about Scandy life. Well, actually quite a lot prettier than Britt’s everyday breakfasts back home. But the point is this: it’s never just a cup of coffee and a piece of bread, it’s a whole gorgeous experience designed for you to indulge in and enjoy, all squeezed onto a perfect grey tray. Biting into that smoked salmon on rye bread feels like you’re getting a real taste of Nordic heritage, of their passions, their culture, their stories.
Fittingly then, or quite likely inspired by that tray, we ended up spending the morning over our coffee and smoked salmon scheming and talking all about storytelling. Making sure all our projects, from books and beyond, are always about producing the greatest looking stories and experiences. It’s never just about that cup of coffee or even that book, but it’s about everything that comes with it. It’s about that gorgeous plastic perfect grey tray.
Right now, we’re figuring out exactly what that means for what we do with our in-store installation at Vitsoe as well as one of the Friday Lates at the V&A in November. We’ll tell you more when we’re a bit closer to sorting those out.
Okay, think it’s time we squeeze in another coffee.
